Role: Sr. Java Developer with GCP
Responsibilities
At least 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and cloud platforms such as GCP.
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 17/21, Spring Boot 4.x, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Hibernate.
Build and enhance microservices-based applications, applying domain-driven design, distributed system principles, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
Design, develop, and support RESTful APIs and backend services with a focus on performance, security, reliability, and scalability.
Implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka, including producer/consumer development, message processing, and asynchronous integration patterns.
Develop and optimize data persistence layers using Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or other relational databases, including SQL query optimization and performance tuning.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Integrate applications with internal and external systems through APIs, messaging platforms, and middleware technologies.
Develop containerized applications using Docker and deploy services on Kubernetes platforms such as GKE, RKE, and RKE2.
Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, and Secret Manager to build and support cloud-native applications.
Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps for automated build, testing, and deployment.
Write unit, integration, and automated tests following software quality practices including TDD, code reviews, static code analysis, and continuous integration.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application and production issues using logging and observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Apply security, performance, resiliency, and operational best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience developing and supporting high-volume, mission-critical applications in large-scale distributed environments is preferred.
Good-to-Have Skills
Exposure to full-stack application development and collaboration with frontend teams to design and consume REST APIs efficiently.
Experience implementing and supporting DevOps and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and SonarQube.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and deployment automation tools such as Terraform, Helm Charts, and Kubernetes Operators.
